Revolution Girl 2008

You voted and now Sparkling Stars in counting down your votes to see who ended up as our first ever Revolution Girl. Remember whoever wins will be on the cover of next month issue and have an article on them. So here we go, drum roll please.

20. Heidi Montag (The Hills): Heidi maybe the Kristen Cavalier of The Hills but is showing the world and her frienemie Lauren Conrad she is going to be a star. She already making her way in the fashion and music world, she may even take on acting. She’s not going to let anyone stand in her way, tell her what to do, and especially who to date, she making her way to super stardom. Even though there have been a few bumps in the road she keeps her head up high tries to stay positive.

Coming soon: Besides her Heidiwood fashion line which came out earlier this year; she has also resealed her new signal “Fashion” which will be off her upcoming album and you can catch her on season four of The Hills which premiers on MTV in August 2008.

19. Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween: The Remake): Scout Taylor-Compton my not be in the lime light as much as other stars, but got her name out there when she played the role; that once belonging to Jamie Lee Curtis, of Laurie Strode in the Halloween remake. She reminds us that not every Hollywood star wants to be in the spotlight.

Coming soon: She will be staring in four movies; Deadly Suspicion, Pearblossom, Love Ranch, and lastly the drama/horror flick Obsessed, about a man who finds his life in danger by a stalker.

18. Emma Roberts (Unfabulous): She may have started out as just the niece of famous actress Julia Roberts, but now she’s made a name for herself. Emma has had her own TV Show (Unfabulous) and has stared in feature films (Nancy Drew), there’s no wonder why people are calling her the next American sweetheart.

Coming soon: Emma next flick “Wild Child;” where she plays a spoiled rebel teen who is sent to a brooding school in England to straighten her out, it is rumored to be released fall 2008. Next January catch her in “Hotel for Dogs,” Where she stars along side Lisa Kudrow and Don Cheadle in the family fun film about two kids who secretly start taking care of stray dogs at a vacant house.

17. Danielle and Kay Panabaker (Read it and Weep): Danielle and Kay have both had successful TV series like Summerland and Shark and have stared in movies such as Sky High, Read it and Weep, Custody, and Yours, Mine, and Ours. But acting isn’t the most import thing in there lives, both girls think school is every import, and attend UCLA. They show you can do what you love and still get good education.

Coming soon: Older sister Danielle will be staring two movies that will be resealed next year; ones a film; about an uptight eighteen year old forced by her aunt to work at a Renaissance Faire during the summer. The other is a remake of the 1980 horror film Friday the 13th. Younger sister Kay has recently film a pilot for a new ABC film project called “Happy Campers” and is about a teenage girl who must go on a camping trip during the summer with her father and step-family.

16. Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine): Abigail Breslin rouse to fame with the 2006 block buster hit “Little Miss Sunshine” and has been one of the most seen kid famous on the big screen ever since. She has started with actors like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Steve Carell, and Jodie Foster. Sparkling Stars sees big things career.

Coming soon: Next year she will be starting long side Hollywood star, Cameron Diaz, in the film “My Sister’s Keeper;” based on the book by Jodi Picoult, is the story of a young girl who’s whole life has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots, so that her older sister can somehow fight leukemia. But, now wants to start living her own life and must make a decision that may tear her family apart.

15. Brittany Snow (Prom Night): Brittany is amazing actress and seems to have a good life; well this great actress hasn’t always had it as easy. She has gone through some hard things. She’s shown her fans she is human and that everyone makes mistakes and she is no different, but no matter what she goes through her fans will sticks by her and will support her.

Coming soon: So, far Brittany has released two movies in 2008 (Prom Night and Finding Amanda), and is rumored to be releasing another one late 2008 called “Black Water Transit.” Then she set to release the film “The Vicious Kind” sometime in 2009.

14. Alyson and Amanda Michalka (Aly and Aj): These two sisters have started in TV movie and shows apart and together, and are a popular sing duo. It hasn’t been easy being in the public eye but it made them strong and they always have each other’s back.

Coming soon: The girls are hard at work writing songs for their fourth and both have flicks coming out next year; Aly with “Rock On” and Aj with “The Lovely Bones.”

13. Lauren Conrad (The Hills): This Laguna Beach native is more about hang out with her girlfriends, finding a real man, and fashion then being a superstar, it’s not her fault she got millions of people watch her every move on national television. Ever since her senior year of High school, LC; as she’s known by her friends, has had her life, friends, and catty moments shown on TV in MTV reality shows (Laguna Beach and The Hills) based on her life. But, besides the cameras that follow her around and the millions of people knowing her name, she’s trying her best just to be a normal girl.

12. Amanda Bynes (Sydney White): Amanda Bynes is known as the funny girl among young Hollywood actress; she has been in big screen films, TV sitcoms, and at one time hosted her very own comedy skit show (The Amanda Show) this is one star that’s not afraid to be herself.

Coming soon: October 2008, Amanda will star in the Lifetime movie, executive-produced by Renee Zellweger, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron; Living Proof.

11. Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody): This Disney starlet has been acting since she was every young and has become a favorite among tweens. But even with her millions of fans Brenda is continuing to work hard and make her way to super stardom.

Coming soon: Brenda; is set to represent her role as clueless London Tipton in the spin off to the Disney Channel series; which she currently stars on “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” It is also rumored, she will also be staring in the TV movie Special Delivery with; House’s Lisa Edelstein.

10. Taylor Swift (Singer): This country singer is one of the most down to earth normal girls out there, the only difference is most teenage girl haven’t sold million of recorders, one countless of music awards, or co-hosted MTV’s TRL. Taylor maybe a country music mega star and loves what she does, but doesn’t let it stop her from being who she is, average teenage girl.

Coming soon: November 11, 2008 you can pick up Taylor’s second album; on the album there will be songs written by Taylor and a few songs written by fellow singer/songwriter Cobie Caillet, Taylor is also the new face of L.e.i. jeans; the clothing line is called ‘This is L.e.i. Country.’

9. Hayden Panettiere (Heroes): This film and TV star is confident with where she is at, in both her career and life. She stands up for what and who she cares about and isn’t afraid to be a little mean; like a fight she had in early 2008 with a magazine writer for putting false info in magazine. For Hayden being on a hit show, having great friends and a loving family is more than enough.

Coming soon: Hayden can be seen in season three of the NBC series Heroes, premiering September 2008; and in the movie “Fireflies in the Garden,” released late 2008.

8. Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer): From innocent Dawn Summers to crazy Georgian Sparks; it is safe to say you never know what kind of role she’ll take on next, it’s a good thing for us she can pretty much do any kind of character, no matter if it’s the bitchy girl just trying to have a good time or the young girl still trying to find out who she is.

Coming soon: Michelle will star with High School Musical star Zac Efron and funny man Matthew Perry, in the new teen flick out in 2009; Seventeen Again. And, she can be seen in the film “Kids in America,” the film is completed but the release date is still unknown.

7. Vanessa Anne Hudgens (High School Musical): Vanessa has had her share of celebrity scandals (nude picture leaked online), but hasn’t ever let it get her down. Most people see her as her High School Musical character, Gabriella Montez; and V doesn’t mind that at all, but hopes people known a character is just a character and sees the real her.

Coming soon: In early, July 2008, Baby V released her second album; which mixes together hip hop and dance style songs and in October 2008 she will represent her role as Gabriella Montez one last time in the feature film High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Pulse in 2009 you can catch her taking on a new role in the film “Rock On.”

6. Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire): She may have gotten famous by playing good girl Lizzie, but one thing is scent Hilary has grown out of her Lizzie McGuire character and has grown up. Don’t get me wrong Hilary loved playing Lizzie and the show will forever be missed, but now Miss Duff is ready to take some risk in both acting and singing.

Coming soon: In 2009, Duff is set to star in the new film “Stay Cool” with Winona Ryder and has three films coming out sometime in the late 2008, Greta, Safety Glass, and the animated film Foodfight!

5. Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars): Though her role as teen detective, Veronica Mars only last for three years, it put her on the map and landed her roles in show like Heroes and Gossip Girls. Kristen has amazing outer and inner beauty, and a personality that can light up a room she’s a mega star on the rise.

Coming soon: Kristen got a lot on her plate with two movie coming out in late 2008 (Fanboys and Antique) and two, to be released in 2009 (When in Rome and Serious Moonlight). In, September 2008, you can catch her as electrifying Elle Bishop on Heroes season three and as the voice of anonymous blogger Gossip Girl in the CW’s television series. Pulse there is a rumor going around that Kristen will play the lead role in the film vision of Meg Cabot (Princess Diaries)’s novel The Queen of Babble.

4. Blake Lively (Gossip Girl): Blake Lively comes from a family of super stars, so it’s no surprise that she’s the star of The CW’s hit show, Gossip Girl. This teen queen may have never asked for super stardom, but ever since her role as outgoing Bridget in the “Sister of the Traveling Pants,” she’s been someone to look out for. Blake is a girl whose fearless, shy, and isn’t afraid to take risks.

Coming soon: Blake can be seen on the big screen in the sequel to the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” in August 2008, besides that she’ll staring in two films (New York, I Love You and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee) out in 2009; and of course you can see her as Serena van der Woodsen in season two of Gossip Girl, airing in September 2008.

3. Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana): Fifteen years old Miley Cyrus has her very own TV show and been on tour, and isn’t without downfalls like making a huge conserves over an inappropriate photo shoot. Fame maybe getting to this young Disney star, but she knows her fans and family will always be there to support her. Although, she is unknown for her Hannah Montana alter ego this teen queen is ready to show the world what’s behind the blond wig.

Coming soon: Miley, released her first non Hannah album titled “Breakthrough” back in late July 2008 and has lent her voice to the new Disney animated film “Bolt,” out everywhere November 2008. As for 2009 she’ll be taking her TV role to the big screen in the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and she will be back on the small screen in the third season of the series as well.

2. Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical): Discovered in a mall at the age of three and once was told she’d never make it in Hollywood, it has been a bumpy road to success for Ashley Tisdale; but with the help of Disney she’s shown the world what she can do in acting and singing. Ashley is a role model to young girls and never forgets that her actions have consequences, she thanks her fans and loves them all for their support.

Coming soon: Ashley will be staring along side the rested of the Wild cast in “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and in 2009 can be seen in the Adventure/Fantasy film “They Came from Upstairs.”

1. Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place): She got her start on the kid’s program Barney & Friends, and has become a teen star with her magical role on the Disney Channel show “Wizards of Waverly Place.” She tries her best to make the right choice, and is definitely someone young girl can and should look up to. One thing that keeps her fan base growing is the positive message she has to give and shows us it pays to be a good girl. Sparkling Stars is happy to present Selena Gomez as our first ever Revolution Girl!

Coming soon: Selena’s made for DVD movie; Another Cinderella Story will be released on September 2008. In 2009 she’ll star in her first Disney Channel TV movie; “Princess Protection Program,” with best friend and Barney co-star, Demi Lovato. And, don’t forget to check her out as Alex Russo in Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”
