“I see dead people” is the classic line from the 1999 M. Night Shyamalan film “The Sixth Sense,” about a boy with an extraordinary gift to see the dead. The film started Haley Joel Osment; at a young age he showed us what he could do in acting, but in 2002 another Osment came on the scene and that was none other than, Emily Osment. With her brother’s Sixth Sense success she had a lot to live up too. She tried her best to breakout of his shadow with her role as Gerti Giggles in the sequels film, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dream and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, but her big break didn’t come until 2006 when she landed a role on a new Disney Channel’s series titled Hannah Montana.
She played Lily Truscott, spunky, tomboy, skater chick who just happens to be best friends with Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus), who’s secretly mega pop sensation Hannah Montana. The series became a hit with tween, making Emily known by kids around the world and out of her older brother’s shadow, but now is finding herself getting a new label as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana’s sidekick, though she’s got a plan to leave the labels behind and finally be known as Emily Osment rising star.

She’s got a lot of stuff heading our way in hopes to help show her fans and the entertainment world what she can do. She stars in the straight to DVD film Soccer mom released September 2008, and she will also be staring in the Disney Channel original movie Dadnapped; about a teen girl who must find her father after he is kidnapped or as they call it in the film “Dadnapped.” The film will be airing on Disney Channel October 2008, lastly she’ll take her Hannah Montana role to the big screen along with the rest of the cast in the Hannah Montana movie, in theaters summer 2009. By the looks of things it’s safe to say Emily is not just the sidekick and plans on doing what she loves for along time, saying “It’s a long way away, but I wanna do this until I die.” Don’t forget to catcher in all new episodes of Hannah Montana airing now on Disney Channel.
