New job, New city, New show

You may know Whitney Port as MTV’s The Hills star Lauren Conrad’s pal and co-worker but now she is stepping out into the spot light with her very own reality show, The City. Like The Hills the show will air Monday nights on MTV and follow Whitney as she travels to New York City for a new and an exciting job, it will also show the ups and downs of moving to a new place, how hard it can be to fit in, and Port’s great but confusing love life. True she may have not gotten a lot of air time on The Hills as some of Conrad’s other friends and shall we say frienemies but has had a great response from the shows fan base. Viewers loved her relatable good girl personality that made her so enjoyable to watch, most people could not wait to see her during the show and some just watch it for her. So, finally after four seasons of the reality show MTV caught on and realized it was time for this side character to tell her own story, and what better place to start then in the Big Apple and with a fabulous new job.

Though, in the being of her journey to reality TV star stardom Port was not so keen on having her personal life out there for the world to see, “I just wanted to focus on my career.” Even MTV series development vice president Liz Gately new Whitney was not looking for fame, Liz say’s ” Whitney was the person who really was not into the ‘famous’ career, modeling or acting.” Which might have been the reason why making the choice to turn the cameras on her in “The City” was not an easy one, “It was a very hard decision. I would be opening up my personal life.” Say’s Port “I made a list of pros and cons, talked it out with my family in the end, the pros definitely outweighed the cons. It was an opportunity I could not pass up.” She goes on to state, “It’s a great career opportunity, so I’m having fun with it. For the most part cameras there or not.” Something else besides a change of scenery, the show goes more into the star’s personal life and of course there is going to be a little bit, OK maybe more then a little bit of drama. “What would reality TV be without drama?” Say’s The City star herself “Hopefully, I’m not the one producing it. I’m just there to handle it and take it all day by day.”

Due to the rumors of Lauren Conrad guest apprentice on the new show, no word yet if she will actual make a visit to her old friend, but Port sure hopes so “I don’t know that they’ve planned for that yet. I would love to have her on.” I am sure Hills fan hope to see her pop up on the show every now then. In the end I can predict there will be a lot of fans hooked on the show, and like The Hills it is sure to be a guilty pleasure and much more. Fans had been talking about the premiere of the new show since the trailer aired on MTV. Another fellow Hills star who will be staring in their very own reality show is Brody Jenner. The show will follow guys from all over the world competing to be Jenner’s best friend and prove they have what it takes to be part of his crew in “Bromance.” Both shows are sure to do great not only for MTV but for their amazing cast too.
