Fatima Zahra; a Role Model

Fatima Zahra is the daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and is considered to be a role model to not only Muslim women, but women from all around the world. She performed many acts of political significance, each so powerful they were recognized by both Sunni and Shia, though there are many versions of her acts. She refused Abu Sufyan protection of her, after the conquest of Mecca.
She defended Ali’s cause after the Prophet passed away. She opposed the election of Abu Bakr, she claimed her father’s property rights, and fought against Abu Bakr’s categorical declination to cede them, and she had tough arguments with Umar.
Fatima stayed by her father’s side through out the hard times he faced in his life, however she did marry, Muhammad’s cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib, and was the mother to his four children.
She died a few month after the death of her father, although many Shia believe that her, defending Ali against the first Khalifa, may had lead to her death.
Her husband Ali, was sadden after her death, he had truly loved her with all his heart, which may have been the reason he never married again. Fatima, show many women, and young girls to stand up for what they believe in and what is right. She is strong women who had faith and was not afraid to fight, for the good; even if it meant death she would stand her ground and never give up.
People say in the city of Medina, but no one really the true location of her grave, nevertheless we do know that she will live on and no one will forget what she fought for, and what a strong and wonderful women she was.
