Headstrong and Acting Out
By Editor • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Exclusives, Hollywood Stars, Success and discoveryA few years back when people heard the name Ashley Tisdale, they would go who? But with the help of Disney there not a tween boy or girl who cannot tell you her birthday, favorite color, and when her latest album comes out (Guilty Pleasure); which is why it is hard to believe that when this talent actor and singer, I might add, started in the Hollywood business she was told she would never make it to stardom.
However all those doubters, might have hurt now and then, but they didn’t keep her down she decide to prove them wrong and went on to guest on many shows such as;
7th Heaven, Still Standing, and Malcolm in the Middle, but here big break did not come until 2005 when she landed the role of Maddie Fitzpatrick; in the Disney Channel show “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”.
From the time the suite life premiered she had gone from a rising star, to a mega star. She then leaped into another world of the acting business staring in one of the first teen musicals since Grease, “High School Musical”; which just so happened to be a Disney Channel original movie. Ashley took on the role of Sharpay Evans; or some might call her the ice queen.
The character was different then the sweet and smart role she played on the suite life, but Ashley took on the challenge of playing the mean girl, which might have been the best career movie she could make. HSM (High School Musical) became success and went on to make two more films (HSM 2 and 3); the second film, like the first, was a Disney Channel original movie, but the final film went straight to the theatres, and was a boxes office hit.
The films, gave Tisdale the push she need to put out her first album titled “Headstrong”, the album sold thousands of copies, but was targeted more towards her young fan base, but this time around she is going for an old crowd. The star will be releasing her second album “Guilty Pleasure” on June 16, 2009.
The album will have a more grown up sound and in hopes to give Ashley way from the Disney light her fans see her in; she says “I’m 23 and I’m not just the cute, bubbly blonde girl you know from Disney. I want my fans to see another side to me”. However she does not want to loss her young fan base, but wants them to understand that she is not sixteen anymore, she is growing up her music and acting career are growing up with her.
You can check Ashley first single of “Guilty Pleasure”; “It’s Alright, It’s OK”, where she show how she gets over a break-up. Also catch her in Aliens in the Attic; about family who vacation home gets in invade by aliens, Ashley stars as Bethany Pearson, who is so in love with her boyfriend she doesn’t see that he is a jerk to her brother, the movie hits theatres July 31, 2009.
