Meaghan Martin, land a guess staring role on the Disney Channel series “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” in 2007; which than lead her to get the role of mean girl Tess Tyler, in the Disney Channel original movie, “Camp Rock,” now she will be taking on the role Bianca Stratford in the new ABC Family series “10 Things I Hate About You.” The show is a take of the 1999 film, which held the same titled; and it stared Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Larisa Oleynik (who original played the character of Bianca).

The show will have the same base of the movie; but the over all plot has been changed to make it more relatable to teen now days, and to run it out as a half an hour series. Like the movie it does follow two sisters, Katarina (Lindsay Shaw), a headstrong feminist and Bianca (Martin), an outgoing all around girly girl; who must deal with the ups and downs of going to a new school, ones just dyeing to fit in, and be like everyone else, the other just tying to stand on her own, and let her independent show.

Meaghan recently talked about the new show saying “I think the fans can, except a lot of things from, “10 Things I Hate About You” because there are going to be a lot of relationships building and that will be really interesting to watch.” She also mentions that a bit about how the show does follow the movie in some way, she says “We kind of twisted things around a little, but the same basic plot is there, and the same characters are there.”

This fall Meaghan will be heading to Canada to start filming “Camp Rock 2,” she has stated that she does not have much info on the plot of the squeal film, but say that it will be great to get back to work with the cast and step in Tess mean girl shoes again. However when ask what she would like to see happen to her character in the new film she said “I want her to show a different side, she so serious I think it be cool if she kind of end up being a goofball or something.”

As you can tell Meaghan has got a lot on her plate, her new ABC Family original series which airs July 7 2009 at 8/7 central, Camp Rock 2 out either late 2009 or early 2010 (the official released date has not been set yet), and Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack out August 4 2009, where she sings “Magic” (Originally by Olivia Newton-John), and lastly we cannot forget the rumors that she will be recording the classic song “Circle of Life” from the Disney animated movie “The Lion King,” Disneymania 7, also said to be released sometime this year.
