By Editor • Nov 1st, 2009 • Category: Features, Hollywood Stars, InterviewsSparkling Stars got the chance to interview one of the stars of ABC’s hottest new sitcom, Modern Family.” She plays the role of Alex Dunphy the younger daughter of Claire and Phil, who is trying to prove that she is different from her older sister, Haley.
Sparkling Stars: First start off by telling our readers who you are and a little about yourself.
Ariel Winter: Hey Everyone! My name is Ariel Winter. I’m an actress and singer/songwriter. This September you can see me on ABC’s new comedy series “Modern Family”. I really like to read, write, hang with my besties, and travel.
Sparkling Stars: Is it hard to be in this business at a young age?
Ariel Winter: Well, I love acting so it’s not hard for me. I will say that it’s a lot of hard work and dedication but for me it is definitely worth it.
Sparkling Stars:
What got you into acting?
Ariel Winter: Ok, so when I was four, I was watching Dora the Explorer. I really wanted to go into the TV and explore with Dora and Boots, so I just started hitting my head on the TV screen trying to get in. My mom told me there was an easier way. The rest is history. LOL!
Sparkling Stars: What project are you currently working on?
Ariel Winter: I am currently working on a television series for ABC called “Modern Family”. The show is really funny. We have an awesome cast starring Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, myself, Nolan Gould, and Rico Rodriguez. I play Alex Dunphy, the middle child who’s too smart for her own good. I’m sort of the cynical, normal one who is always wondering if she’s adopted.
Our show is about three modern day families just trying to live their lives. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of this wonderful show. You can catch us on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. Central)!
Sparkling Stars: How has it been working on the show?
Ariel Winter: Amazing! I enjoy working with the cast, crew, writers, producers, and director. We all bonded right away. Everyone rocks!
Sparkling Stars: What projects do you have any the works?
Ariel Winter: A film “A Thousand Words” opposite Eddie Murphy, Allison Janney, and Kerry Washington for Paramount Pictures directed by Brian Robbins. I also write and produce my own music. Two of my songs have already been placed in films. I enjoy acting, but I express myself through my music.
Sparkling Stars: You stared in Speed Racer. How was it to star along side big named actor; such as Susan Sarandon and Christina Ricci?
Ariel Winter: It was amazing. I feel very privileged to work with such professionals. Susan and Christina are so sweet, talented, and very pretty. The whole cast was awesome. I also enjoyed working with the Wachowski Bros. They’re really awesome!
Sparkling Stars: What is the best part about this career?
Ariel Winter:
The best part of my career is the work. It’s really cool to do a new role and challenge myself more and more each time.
Sparkling Stars: Who are some actors that you look up too?
Ariel Winter: Some of the actors I look up to are Johnny Depp, Natalie Portman, Angelina Jolie, and Elizabeth Taylor. I enjoyed watching her in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”.
Sparkling Stars: What would you tell people who want to get into the business?
Ariel Winter: I would tell people to reach for the stars. Anything’s possible. Follow your dreams!!
Sparkling Stars: Here is one for fun if you could be any superhero who would you be and why?
Ariel Winter: Wonder Woman. “It’s not polite to hit a lady”.
Sparkling Stars: Lastly, what has been the best project you’ve done?
Ariel Winter: I’ve enjoyed all my projects. I would have a hard time picking just one. Every project has challenged me and made me a better actress. Life is good! XOXO, Ariel Winter.
