In the spring of 2000 during her first ever pilot season in Los Angeles Alexis Bledel landed the role of Rory Gilmore in the WB series “Gilmore Girls.” The show and her character became an instant hit, and opened many doors for the young actress born in Houston, Texas who sometimes felt like a fish out of water; 45064_gg_0535_rt_hr_123_480lo_optshe once said “The success of the show is overwhelming. It’s like being Alice at the Mad Hatter’s tea party because you never know what’s going to happen next.”

But, sadly the series ended in 2007 after seven wonderful and amazing seasons, but luckily Alexi’s career didn’t ended with it; even though she was saddened by the shows cancelation she wants to see what else is out there and has no plans to return to TV any time soon, saying ”It would have to be at least 10 years before I’d do [a series] again, because it is such an all-consuming experience. ‘I’m looking forward to seeing what else I can do.”

And now that the star has some what graduated from her TV character she has started any many wonderful films; like the independent film “The Good Guy” and her 2009 blockbuster film “Post Grad,” which is released to DVD on January 12, 2010. The star plays the lead role in the film, Ryden Malby; who has just graduated from collage and begins to find out that adulthood isn’t easy, and that things [like finding a job] takes time.

Bledel says that the message behind the movie is that life isn’t planed and the world isn’t perfect, you have to start at the bottom before you can get to the top. However, the plot of the movie wasn’t the only thing that caught her attention; she admits to have liked the fact her character [Ryden], unlike her Gilmore Girls character Rory, isn’t ideal and makes mistakes.

This year Alexis will be staring Justin Long and Evan Rachel Wood in the film “The Conspirator;” about a woman who is charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination trial of President Abraham Lincoln. Another film she is taking on in Twenty-Ten is “The Kate Logan Affair” where she will play main character, Kate Logan. Bledel, is also rumored to have a role in the 2010 Drama/Thriller movie “The Letters.”
