Sparkling Stars Reviewer Says: “New Moon does not live up to all the hype.”
New Moon is the sequel to the block buster hit Twilight staring teen heartthrobs Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. The movie is based on Stephenie Meyers book “New Moon” which continues to follow the life of Bella Swan as she falls in love with a vampire.
In the this movie she is forced to deal with the heart brake after Edward leaves her in his attempt to protect her from his monstrous self but she finds that it only opened a door to a new world.
Bella soon finds comfort in her best friend Jacob but he has a secret of his own. After leaving the vampire world behind she now finds herself stuck in a new world of werewolves.
After all the hype from the first movie, Twilight I walked in with big hopes. Although the special effects have gotten much better since the first movie, thanks to a new director, the movie still does not live up to all the hype in my eyes. Kristen Stewart fails ones again to show any emotion other than 3 almost smiles but Robert Pattinson somehow seemed to fix her babbling with kissing her every chance he got. In New Moon all eyes seemed to be on Taylor Lautner this time seeing as how he has his shirt off half the time; I found it rather entertaining, though they could’ve toned it down a notch.
Over all the book was fairly well covered and no big “Spider Monkey” incident was detected and the director did a good job on getting the audience really into the movie. So do not get discouraged by your Harry Potter friends and go see the movie.
I give it 7.5 out of 10 stars.
