Cast: Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Grey DeLisle, and Matthew Lillard
Genre: Animation | Family
In this 2010 new movie Scooby-Doo and the gang set out on a trip to visit Velma’s sister Madelyn, who has been studying magic at the Whirlen Merlin Magic Academy. However, when the gang arrives, they learn that the school has been troubled with strange disturbances. Many of its students have fled after reporting sightings of a giant Gryphon that’s frightened them. The gang smells trouble and sets out to investigate.
The movie is just like all your old favorite Scooby movies/episode; it is filled with lots of potential suspects, creepy settings, scary monster, colorful artwork, and, Scooby and Shaggy silliness. Instead of having the same animation from What’s New Scooby Doo; Abracadabra-Doo has a retro feel and look to it that takes you back to the Scooby-Doo Where Are You?,
Days as well as older Scooby-Doo which is nice that they are going back to their roots, even the mystery has a classic Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. style.
But, the film isn’t all scary monsters and dark castles there is some humor, which is partly due to Velma’s sister Madelyn’s crush on Shaggy and the Mystery Machine’s new “G.P.S” system that has a bit off attitude.
Besides the movie itself this DVD includes a bonus feature titled Scooby-Doo and Puppets Too, which teaches viewers how to create their own scary Gryphon puppet.
