Taking Over Hollywood
By Editor • Mar 11th, 2010 • Category: Exclusives, Hollywood StarsAmanda Seyfried has become someone to look out for in movies and TV; Seyfried stars in the HBO series “Big Love.” But, Seyfried has taken her acting skill to the big screen staring in tons of feature films like Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!, and Jennifer’s Body; this year you can catch her in theatres twice she will be playing along side Channing Tatum in the film version of Nicholas Sparks popular book “Dear John” in theatres March 5, 2010.
Then you can catch her at the box office again when she stars as a young girl on vacation in Italy where she finds an unanswered “letter to Juliet,” a fictional woman who many would write too. Now she is on the quest to find the lovers referenced in the letter; in “Letters to Juliet” released May 7, 2010.
Seyfried got her start in Hollywood at the age of 11 years old by modeling, then found her way into acting and although it seem she has gotten to a steady place in her career she is still fighting against other young talent actors for roles, and lost out to a lot of wonderful parts on account of some. She original audition for the roles of Regina and Cady in Mean Girls (2004), but lost out to other actress and was casted as the clueless-blonde Karen Smith instead. She also tried out for the part of “Kelli” in Black Christmas (2006) but the role went to Katie Cassidy.
However, it is like the old saying goes when one door closes another one opens; when Amanda went out for the role of title role on “Veronica Mars” (2004) they passed, but she was then offered the role of “Lilly”,
Veronica’s dead best friend who was featured in many flashbacks and came to be one of the series most popular characters. And, best of all she beat out several actresses (including one of her “Mean Girls” co-stars Rachel McAdams) for the part of Sophie” in the film Mamma Mia! (2008).
She has also been on the cover of “Vanity Fair” magazine twice now and has been named by many magazine, including Sparkling Stars; one of the face to look out for in 2010. Nevertheless, Amanda does admit the in the spotlight it is hard not to judge other actress who is after the same thing you are but she tries to just keep focus; she has been quoted saying “People do judge you, and there are stupid rivalries. You have to wear the right things, because there are all these girls my age competing for the same roles. They’re judging me and I’m judging them. I try not to be that way, but sometimes I am.”
Well, it looks as if her staying on track and looking at her goals have been doing good for her and has help her land a lot of big roles all of which I can’t wait to see.
