She is a one of the fun and energetic co-host of ClevverTV, but did you know she is a producer and writer too. This talented reporter has had a love for journalism since she was very young and now she and her co-host Dana Ward are; in my opinion the most known YouTube entertainment reporters. So, what are you waiting for lets get to know Joslyn Davis.

Sparkling Stars: Hello Joslyn! Let’s start off with you introducing yourself, and telling our readers a littler bit about who you are.

Joslyn Davis: Well I grew up right outside of LA, so I’m a California girl all the way! I’ve been asking questions my whole life and am very easily fascinated, so being able do that for my job is nothing short of amazing. I’ve always loved to travel and try to visit new places as often as possible. My newest hobby is sewing. I think I was inspired by Project Runway, but let’s just say most of my stuff doesn’t turn out quite as fabulous. In my limited free time, I love to be outside and spend time with my family and friends. I don’t take myself too seriously, love to act silly, listen to music and crack-up as often as possible.

Sparkling Stars: How did you get started in the entertainment hosting and journalism business?

Joslyn Davis: I was actually planning to pursue a career in news, and followed that path throughout college, but when I graduated a friend of mine encourage me to explore the world of hosting, and I did! I started going on auditions for hosting jobs and began working pretty steadily before I booked the job with Clevver Media. My education gave afforded me the opportunity to hone my writing skills and through hosting classes and internships I learned about being on-camera, reading TelePrompter and being a reporter.

Sparkling Stars: Most people probably know you as the fun and beat of ClevverTV. So, how did ClevverTV get started?

Joslyn Davis: My co-host Dana Ward and I were hired as hosts at Clevver Media, the company that owns/runs ClevverTV, and we, along with the owners of the company built ClevverTV from the ground. There was an obvious demand for a positive, young-Hollywood entertainment show, and we’ve had a blast working together to make the show what it is today.

Sparkling Stars: But you don’t just do video segments you also write and produce it. Out of all three jobs, which is your favorite to do?

Joslyn Davis: I am so passionate about all three aspects of my job and I plan to continue doing all three in the future. However, what I think I’m most passionate about, and what I enjoy most, is interviewing people. Having the opportunity to sit down and talk with such extraordinary people and find out about their lives and where they’ve come from is so fascinating and I absolutely love being able talk to people and ask the questions I want to the know the answers to. Sometimes I forget its work – and that’s a very good sign, because we work very, very hard!

Sparkling Stars: Do you have any tips for people looking to get into the Hollywood journalism business?

Joslyn Davis: Yes, there are a few key things. First, I do think that it’s very important to go to college to get a strong grasp on writing and public speaking. This is also the perfect opportunity to get your feet wet, as many universities have great on-campus news shows. Second, and probably most important, internships are essential. Interning is the ONLY way to truly understand what entertainment journalism entails, and networking is imperative. Meet as many people as possible and absorb everything you can. Ask if you can shadow people and don’t be afraid to ask questions (and don’t mind waiting sometimes for the answers. Lastly, if you have a little camera and really want to become a journalist, just do it now! Get a YouTube account and start shooting your own shows. There is so much about reporting that can only be learned through actually doing, so why not just jump right in?

Sparkling Stars: What is it like working with ClevverTV’s other host Dana Ward?

Joslyn Davis: I hit the jack-pot when I booked the job at ClevverTV with Dana Ward as my co-host. Our on-camera chemistry is something that most people just can’t find and what’s even better is that Dana has become one of my closest friends. I feel so blessed to be doing this awesome job with D-W as my partner in crime!

Sparkling Stars: You and Dana seem to switch off who covers what Hollywood event. Like, how you covered the Fred the Movie Premiere and Dana reported from the ‘Disney’s Prom’ Premiere. Is there ever a time when you both want to cover the same event?

Joslyn Davis: Sometimes for big events or special occasions, we will both attend. For example, we both co-hosted our Kid’s Choice Awards coverage. We are normally too busy to both attend red carpets, because there is just too much going on. That said, we have to divide and conquer by attending different events or one of us might stay in the studio to host a few interviews or do news segments. It’s all about sharing the responsibilities, but we do love co-hosting events, especially since we have so much fun together!

Sparkling Stars: Who are some of your favorite people to interview?

Joslyn Davis: Too many to count! Some of our show favorites are Selena Gomez, Victoria Justice, Keegan Allen, Nathan Kress, and the list could go on forever! There is something special that I could say about every single person we’ve had in. We are very fortunate to be able to say that 100% of the celebrities we have in our studio are gracious, down-to-earth and fun to be around.

Sparkling Stars: Although celebrities are just normal people, taking to them face to face can be intimidating.
So, was there ever at that you were completely star struck?

Joslyn Davis: I don’t really get star struck, and I think that once you’re face to face with celebrities (even the really famous ones), you realize ‘hey, this is just a normal person who eats, breathes and exists just like me.’ At that point, you can act normal and just have a fun chat with the person. However, I will say that both Dana and I will be the first ones to admit that some of the cuter guys we’ve interviewed have gotten us a bit flustered on occasion.

Sparkling Stars: You took a small break from hosting and did a guest spot in talent, and had a cameo in Savannah Outen and Josh Golden’s “Tonight with You” music video. Do you think you’ll do more acting?

Joslyn Davis: I am always interested in trying new things! I love Savannah and Josh and I was so honored they asked us to be a part of their video! It turned out so well and I’d definitely be open to more opportunities like that one in the future.

Sparkling Stars: Are last question is a fun one that we always ask and that is, if you could be a super hero, who would you be?

Joslyn Davis: I know this isn’t a super hero, but I’m obsessed with Nancy Drew, so I’ll go with super-sleuth instead!

Sparkling Stars: Thank you, so much for doing this interview with me.

Joslyn Davis: Thanks for getting in touch.
