Jennifer L. Scott’s stylebook “Lessons from Madame Chic: 20 Stylish Secrets I Learned While Living in Paris” (Simon & Schuster; $23.00) graded 4 stars on Amazon.com and 4.5 stars on BarnesandNoble.com. The New York Times calls the book “a guide for women who, like herself, yearn to channel Audrey Tautou in the American suburbs. Personable, anecdote-filled and studded with lifestyle tips.”
Scott is a notable source for all thing fashion; called by many a style expert in this book the blogger shares her fabulous lifestyle tips hoping to help director the French to live joyfully and enthusiastically. The book is a teacher and student format, Scott being the teacher and the reader is the student. In the book, Jennifer pilots her pupils through three different categories and key aspects of life-“Diet and Exercise,” “Style and Beauty” and “How to Live Well.” Throughout each chapter, the author shares her experiences with the French culture and all the treasured lessons she gained during her time studying abroad in the country.
The book is about one woman’s experiences within Paris and how to enjoy life from anywhere in the world. Readers will get an inside look on living in Paris and French, and learn that you can use Jennifer’s secrets wherever you might live. Although, the book may not change your state-of-mind it will influence you in one way or another.
A wonderfully well-written book for Paris lovers and anyone that needs help on feeling alive.
