First Impression Review: Kat Von D Lock?It Tattoo Foundation

For most girls, makeup is more than something frivolous and vain, but can give us an extra boost confidence to step out into the world. The number one essential to any makeup look, at least to me, is a flawless coverage foundation. I’ve heard some pretty incredible things about the “Kat Von D Lock?It Tattoo Foundation”($34), so I was game to give it a try.

People describe it as the ultimate full coverage long wearing foundation with a porcelain doll like finish. However, maybe I was expecting too much from this product because I was less than impressed. I applied it was a stippling brush, which is my preferred way to apply foundation, or any liquid makeup product for the matter. The coverage was not anything memorable, and the smell was horrible. I do not know about other people, but putting products that smell like chemicals on my face.

The color (Light 48) gave me an orange tint and the consistency was a bit liquidy for my liking. The lasting power of the foundation was fairly good. I did not wear the foundations for 24-hours; I applied it at 9 am and went through the day needing a minimal amount of touch ups. The only place that seemed to get shiny was the top of my nose and this was after 4 hours of wear and working out.

In general, it is a decent foundation with a respectable amount of coverage. The question is would I spend over thirty dollars for this product? Nope. I feel that there are better foundations for less or pay a bit more for a more remarkable foundation.
