Make-up is not my first priority in the morning, and most people do not make it one when they need to run out of the door in order to make it in time for their 8 am class or for work. These following beauty products are easy to swipe on, and perfect for creating some basic make-up styles. I had my fabulous (and slightly unwilling) friend help model so that you can see what these products will look like when applied by a somewhat non-expert on makeup application. We’ll start from the bottom up:

Stila Lip Glaze in Harmony

What I love about Stila Lip Glaze is the unique packaging that is different from any other lip gloss. The nude color adds a subtle shine no matter how much you might accidentally glop on when rushing out the door. There’s a slight, pleasant smell but it’s not really a noticeable factor with it. The gloss isn’t sticky, but it’s pretty smooth and last a decent amount of time.

Con: While the applicator is unique, it’s a little tedious. The clicking noise is a little obnoxious, not something you want to be applying in the middle of work or class, plus you have to shake the applicator aggressively just to get the lip gloss to come out sometimes.

Appropriate for: daily wear, morning application, spring/summer, first dates. Great with a peachy palettes.

Pair with: bold, lined or colorful eyes.

Cost: $22

Buxom Eyeshadow

Their is creamy metallic shadows go on in thin, not heavy, layers. They have beautiful silvery/grey metallic colors that are very soft and creamy. However, the these eye shadow do require the use of a primer.

Favorite time to use: Winter! Especially for parties.

Find it in Sephora stores everywhere.

Check out these other pretty colors that Buxom features: Chihuahua (bright silver), Saint Bernard (deep sea green), Schnauzer (vivid violet plum) and Buxom in Pug (smoky pewter)

Cost: $18 (totally worth it)

We paired Buxom with Sephora’s powdered eyeshadow in starry sky No 7

It’s better to apply this with a crease make up brush, because it holds the powder better and allows you to create a darker contrast when going for a smoky eye. The smoky look is great for an evening out, and very easy to create with the Buxom creamy eyeshadows. Lightly apply the cream eyeshadow to the eyelid, and then sweep this powdered eye shadow into the crease.

Find it in Sephora and try it in: banana split, pool party, and apple mojito

Cost: $13

Both products last for a long time, although some reapplication may be required mid-evening out if you want to keep your look fresh.
