The movie’s main character, Will Burton (Gaelan Connell), is your typical, quirky teenager that wants nothing more than to fit in. Typically ignored or bullied in the school hallways, Will has gotten used to being alone. But when the cool and popular ‘it’ girl, Charlotte Banks (Alyson Michalka), starts to take notice of his extensive knowledge of music, Will is completely stunned.

Charlotte, a gifted singer-songwriter, invites Will to manage her new-born rock band and help them go head-to-head against her arrogant musician ex-boyfriend Ben (Ben Wheatley) at the regional battle of the bands.

Blinded by the glory of being noticed, Will agrees to help Charlotte’s trio. He eventually starts to bring in other outcasts, including Sam (Vanessa Hudgens), a classmate with secret musical talent. Over time, the group’s sound starts to come together, and Will’s popularity status begins to grow. But when Charlotte is sprung with an unexpected family tragedy, she breaks off her friendship with Will and quits the band. The band, and Will’s, confidence begins to flounder, and with the competition creeping up, they must choose to accept the beat or stand up for what they believe in.

Unfortunately, this film’s release date has been set for August 14, 2009. This doesn’t affect the anticipation of the fans though. Trailers are popping up all over the internet and movie screens, eagerly awaiting the arrival. Keep your eyes and ears peeled; August is closer than you think!
