NBC’s new drama series “Smash” takes you behind the scenes of a Broadway show as a group of people come together to put on a musical production based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. The series will premieres February 6 (10-11 p.m. ET) and stars Debra Messing (“Will & Grace”), Katharine McPhee (“American Idol”) and Oscar winner Anjelica Huston (“Prizzi’s Honor”), along with other talented actors. With the launch of this, what looks like to be a hit series NBC has teamed up with iTheatrics to start ‘Smash’: Make a Musical,” which is a charitable causes that helps to create musical theater programs in underprivileged schools <img src="http://www.sparklingstars.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Musical_Theater_Masks_by_xmontpetitx_opt3.jpg" alt="" title="Musical_Theater_Masks_by_xmontpetitx_opt" width="130" height="84" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4686"align="left"/>throughout the nation.

The program kicks off this month in 20 schools in 20 U.S. cities, and will help the schools stage their own productions and implement self-sustaining platforms. The stars of NBC’s “Smashed” are taking part in the campaign as well, and will join with iTheatrics at The Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta January 13-15, where they’ll announce the first 20 schools selected. You can apply at makeamusical.org for the second cycle which will be starting in the fall 2012.

The 20 programs launching this month are in the following cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland (Ore.), Boston, Baltimore/Washington, D.C., Cleveland, Houston, Nashville, New York, Oakland, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, Seattle and St. Louis (participating schools will be announced on January 15).

However iTheatrics has a longer term mission in mind. They hope that this program will be just the beginning and will help the Junior Theater Project to produce 180 additional “Make a Musical” programs in the fall. In 2013, iTheatrics plans on initiating an additional 200 programs and their ultimate goal is to have 1,000 new arts programs impacting the lives of over one million U.S. students by twenty-fourteen.

Ariana Grande is best known for playing the dizzy, odd, and perky Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, but before she was Cat the talented actress stared as Charlotte in the musical 13 on Broadway. Recently she tried her hand at voice acting were she played the voice of Diaspro in an episode of Nickelodeon’s Winx Club, but beside season 3 of Victorious; Grande’s major focus has be on her raising music career. Ariana first official single “Put Your Hearts Up”, which is currently available on iTunes, the actress-singer co-wrote the song along with other talented songwriters including Linda Perry. <img src="http://www.sparklingstars.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/99734ed4bba180ddc53102ba92f97e57-d3eiyu8.jpg" alt="" title="99734ed4bba180ddc53102ba92f97e57-d3eiyu8" width="164" height="118" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4695"align="right"/>Ariana states that she loved the message behind the song, “The song is about how one little act of kindness or one small little gesture of love and niceness randomly during your day can alter affect the world.” Grande adds “It’s a song about how the little things can really affect everyone.”

During an interview with ClevverTV the actress talked about how dreamlike it has been to be living out her dreams of making music. “Now I have songs that I can call my own, songs that I have written, songs that I have helped vocal produced, and songs that I have been there for every step of the way; it is such a good feeling.” said Arianna. The actress goes on to say that it feels surreal and that music has been a passion of hers forever. She stated she has been singing since birth and grew up listening to Madonna and Donna Summers. Also she notes that she feels that people, including her personally, can relate to her album and that it is a good way for her fans to get to know her better.

So when will the album be released? No one knows an official released date for the a record has yet to be announced Arianna has mentioned that most of the album is completed and hopes that it will be out as soon as mid twenty-twelve, however due to putting the final touches on the album and filming Victorious the stars has yet to set a release date. Speaking of Victorious here is the scoop on what coming up in season 3, which begins January 28th. This season will be filled with tons of new episode; Tori, Cat, and Jade go on a road trip that takes a wrong turn, the gang pairs off to compete in a couples’ game, and so much more comedy, music, and defiantly more victorious. So “Put Your Hearts Up” for all the exciting things that Arianna has got headed our way this year.

Kermit the Frog and all his friends return to theaters in an all new feature film! This time around Kermit and the gang come together, with the help of some friends, to their old theater from being over run by a greedy oil mogul. Jason Segel co-wrote and stars in the film along with co-stars like Amy Adams, Zach Galifianakis, Emily Blunt, and many more big names in Hollywood. When Hollywood first heard that Segel was working on a new Muppet’s film there was bit of uncertainty if the movie was going to stay true to the classic Muppet’s pictures we love, since most of the actors body of work on consist of R-rated flicks such as “Knocked Up,” “I Love You, Man,” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” However, what people didn’t know was that the Muppets held a special place in his heart.

During an interview with Popsugar Jason Segel talks about the doubts people. “I think maybe there was a moment of wariness that I was doing this with a sense of irony. Like there was a wink-wink about it — ‘Oh, cute. R-rated Jason Segel is going to do the Muppets and make fun of it.” In the interview the actor also states that he wanted to pay tribute to the original films that we love so much. “We’re trying to harken back to the original three Muppet movies, The Muppet Movie, Muppets Take Manhattan, and The Great Muppet Caper. I think one of the things the original Muppet movies did amazingly well is that they don’t condescend to children by feeling like they have to dumb things down to the lowest common denominator. And when you don’t do that, you get a family film in its truest sense.” Segel said. Goes on to state he want the film to be something that the whole family can enjoy. His goal was not only to stay true to Jim Henson’s vision, but to bring back family movie night too.

The actor also knew that music was such a huge part in the original films an had to be included in the this new adaption as well. He told /Film, “We knew it was going to be musical from the start. All the great Muppet movies are musicals.” He goes on to state the Muppets music is no joke and that they believe that found the perfect duo to give the songs that Muppet touch. “James Bobin was the perfect choice for this movie because he’s been doing Flight of the Concords and it almost seems like he’s been training for this. Then we brought on Brett. It was just a perfect union of their styles and the Muppet styles.”

Although, the star wanted to keep the film as close to the original as possible he didn’t want to loss its originality, so along with all your favorite Muppets the film will introduce a new Muppet named Walter. He is described as “sweet, naive, and somewhat of a young Kermit.” But at last you’ll have to wait until the film hits theaters November 23, 2011 (Thanksgiving week!) to see Walter, Kermit, Jason Segel, the Muppets gang, and more in action.

Vampires and werewolves have been around for ever, from the classic “Interview with a Vampire” to the popular WB series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Nowadays we a drawn into shows like “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries,” but one of fans favorite vampire saga is coming to an end and it is strange to think that it all started as a book. The Twilight Saga was written by Stephenie Meyer; it follows Isabella “Bella” Swan, a teenage girl who comes to live with her father when her mother remarries. Now she must deal with living in the small town of Forks, Washington where it’s always rainy and cloudy, and she’s the new girl. Yet it seems that things take a turn for the better when she is drawn towards a mystery classmate of hers names Edward Cullen. Unknowing to her that he and his family are actually vampires. However the two can’t fight their attraction for one another and things in Bella’s life gets turned upside down. She must also deal with the fact that her old friend Jacob Black harbors feelings for her and just so happens to be a werewolf, the sworn enemies of vampires. She is caught between love, family, friendships, but the only thing that she knows for sure is that she is hopelessly in love with Edward and intends on being with him forever even if that means she has to die.

The film adaption of “Twilight” was released in 2007 and had mixed reactions; some fans of the books loved it, some hated it, but one thing is for sure it gained a rage of fans outside of the book community. The next film “New Moon” came out in 2009 and did slightly better, and was followed by the third movie “Eclipse” in 2010. Out of the three “Eclipse” got the best reviews and fans couldn’t wait for the finale movie to be released, however Summit Entertainment throw a curve ball and decided to split up the finale book into two pictures; one releasing in November 2011 and other 2012.

In the finale movie Bella and Edward say their “I Dos” and escape on a romantic honeymoon, however things are cut short when the newly Mrs. Cullen discovers that she is pregnant. The baby seems like a blessing for the happy couple, but their smiles quickly fade when they learn that the pregnancy is progressing all to fast and when Bella goes into labor she mights her death. About to loss the love of his life Edward must do the one thing he never wished too and that is turn his beloved into a vampire. Once the baby is born the Volturi is notified of its existence and comes after the child because such as creature violates vampire laws. Now the Cullens must come together to protect their family and stop anyone who tries to tear them apart.

“Breaking Dawn: Part 1″ is the most action packed film and this time around we get to see Bella as a kick butt vampire. It is also a risque movie since it does contain a sex scene between to two main stars. “It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a scene within a ‘Twilight’ film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’ It was very surreal.” Kristen Stewart who plays Bella told the British version of Glamour Magazine.<img src="http://www.sparklingstars.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Twilight_by_LianneC.jpg" alt="" title="Twilight_by_LianneC" width="128" height="156" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4504"align="right"/> The movie almost gained an R rating, which would have the movie potentially losing many of its target audience, but lucky it was labeled as PG-13.

During the Roma screening of the next-to-last film in the saga Stewart’s co-star Nikki Reed gave her opinion on why the romance between Edward and Bella is so wonderful to watch. “This love between Edward and Bella is just out of the realm of possibility and reality. I mean, it’s unattainable, it’s not real, and that’s what makes it so magnetic.” Reed said.

Nonetheless, if it’s the love that draws you or the action on things is for sure you wont want to miss the; what seems to be explosive two part film finale.

In 2008, readers everywhere joined the Hunger Games with young adult author Suzanne Collins fantasy book trilogy titled “The Hunger Games.” The trilogy follows sixteen years old Katniss Everdeen chooses to bravely take her younger sisters place in the Hunger Games; annual war where one boy and girl from each of the twelve districts must embark on a fight to their death on live TV.

The books have become a hit among the younger generation and is so popular that Lionsgate has decided to bring the Games to life with a major motion picture staring actress Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. When it was first released that the trilogy was going to be turned in a movie actress for all over couldn’t wait to win the chance to step into Katniss shoe for the film adaption.

Disney starlet Alyson Stoner went all out to prove she desired the role by taking to Twitter and posting photos of her in Katniss inspired outfits doing adventures things such as climb a wall. The actress even had the support from fellow Disney actress and friend Debby Ryan, who tweeted Stoner saying “You’re the most intense chick alive. you own, Katniss.” Other actress that where in the running for the role included Vampire Diaries’s Melsea Jow and Tru Grit star Hailee Steinfeld.

However, Lawrence eventually won the role and couldn’t be happier, but says she has a lot of weight on her shoulder with playing a character that already has so many fans. “I couldn’t be happier about being a part of Hunger Games and to play Katniss. I have a huge responsibility to the fans of this incredible book and I don’t take it lightly. I will give everything I have to these movies and to this role to make it worthy of Suzanne Collin’s masterpiece.” Said Lawrence

In the film she will be staring alongside actors Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth; who are set to play Katniss two love interested in the film. Many fans of the books have their thoughts on the whole Peeta (played by Josh Hutcherson) vs. Gale (played by Liam Hemsworth), and even Jennifer knows which one she’d rather see Katniss end up with; tell EW.com “Peeta. He’s good and nice in a world that’s harsh and unkind.”

The Hunger Games film is set for a 2012 released date, but jump into the action now and pick up the trilogy.

TV fanatics, it’s time to breathe a sigh of relief…the dreaded summer hiatus is (almost) finally over! And unlike last year, there is a bevy of promising new shows that will be premiering in only a matter of weeks. In addition to all of my returning shows, here are the freshman programs I’m most excited to see premiere.
<ins datetime="2011-09-08T16:57:39+00:00">
Terra Nova</ins>
So yeah, I’ve got to admit that the whole “the Earth is on the brink of extinction and we’re going into the future to find the answer” storyline has been done way too many times. I mean, how many cracks in the time-space continuum can there be out there? FOX’s ambitious new drama, Terra Nova, looks like it has the potential to be amazing. I love when shows use a grand, cinematic style and this one looks very aesthetically pleasing…not to mention hella expensive. Plus, it probably never hurts to have ol’ Steven Spielberg’s name attached to your project.

Terra Nova premieres Monday September 26 on FOX, 8/7c

<ins datetime="2011-09-08T16:59:05+00:00">Once Upon a Time</ins>
I’m a sucker for fairy tales, so give me a weekly show chock full of fantasy elements and I’m there. The premise of the show sounds similar to the Amy Adams flick, Enchanted, but it does have two former Lost writers on staff aka things are bound to get complicated. All of the inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest were sent to the quaint town of Storybrooke by the Queen. Everyone is a fairy tale character, but *gasp* no one knows who they are, including our heroine, played by Jennifer Morrison.

Once Upon a Time premieres Sunday October 23 on ABC, 8/7c

<ins datetime="2011-09-08T17:03:43+00:00">Revenge</line></ins>
Emily VanCamp has played the quintessential girl-next-door in Everwood and Brothers & Sisters, but her new foray into the world of the manipulative and cunning looks like it will be a success. Emily Thorne returns to the wealthy and upper-class world of the Hamptons to seek revenge on those responsible for tearing apart her family and consequently tarnishing their rep. Sounds a tad different from the wholesome family town of Everwood, Colorado, huh?

Revenge premieres Wednesday September 21 on ABC,10/9c

<ins datetime="2011-09-08T17:03:43+00:00">
The Secret Circle</ins>
I thought The Vampire Diaries looked like the stupidest thing on Earth when the previews started rolling out two years ago. Now, it’s currently one of my favorite shows on air. And since the same crew is bringing this beauty to life, I have high hopes that it will follow in its predecessor’s successful footsteps. I’ve got TVD for some vamp action, The Walking Dead for my zombie fix and now The Secret Circle for some double-double toil and trouble. The undead gang’s all here.

The Secret Circle premieres Thursday September 15 on The CW, 9/8c

<ins datetime="2011-09-08T16:59:33+00:00">American Horror Story</ins>
As a horror movie buff, I’m very excited about Ryan Murphy’s new series. And the best part is, the show will probably be very good at first, since we all know that Ry’s shows start out friggin’ spectacular and then quickly bite the dust. Plus, he’s assembled a pretty talented crew for the show, you know that any show with Friday Night Lights alum is bound to be good. All hail, Tami Taylor.

American Horror Story premieres Wednesday October 5 on FX.

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">Prime Suspect (Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: Detective Jane Timoney is one tough cop who isn’t scared to get dirty and fight. She is solving homicide case and isn’t taking any of that sexist stuff from her male co-workers.

The Prediction: With tons of cop shows on the air; what’s one more thrown into the mix? This show could be sticking around since it seems that everyone (including me) loves to watch cop based shows. Maybe its the action or the mystery, but there is just something about them that draws in a massive amount of viewers. But that being said the show is focused on a woman and many cop shows with female leads don’t seem to do so good in the ratings for us some unknown reason, yet there are some exceptions like fox’s “Bones.” And this series could follow in it foot steps and become a success.
<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
Grimm (Fridays at 8:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: Brothers Grimm lovers everywhere will be instantly drawn into the new series inspired by the “Grimm tales.” Homicide detective Nick Burckhardt life gets turned upside down after he learns that he is a descendant of the paranormal chasers known as “Grimms.” With his special powers he must take on the duties of destroying the blutbads.

The Prediction: This show sounds, in a word, awesome! It could prove to be a hit for NBC, however the time slot might be it downfall. It is going up against Fringe (Fox) and Supernatural (The CW), which already have huge followings.

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
ABC</ins>

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">Revenge (Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: In this new drama; a young girl travels back home to get vengeance on the people that destroyed her family.

The Prediction: This show seems interesting and the fact that we get to see actress Emily VanCamp in a role unlike her “Everwood” and “Brothers and Sisters” characters is intriguing. However the plot seems a bit far fetched, yet this show could prove to be a hit for the network since it is being consistently promoted.

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">Charlie’s Angels (Thurdays at 7:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: These Angels need no explanation, since most everyone has seen or heard of the original Charlie’s Angels TV Show or the film versions staring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. This new adaption of the classic show follows a younger cast of Angels; a former Miami cop, a street racer, and a thief all getting the second chance they deserve.

The Prediction: Remakes can go one of two ways; they can be bombs such as the short lived “Bionic Woman”remake or be hits like CBS new adaption of “Hawaii 5.0.” Overall this show has action, a somewhat built in following, and three hot girls all of which could guarantee it a second season.
<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
Pan AM (Sundays at 9:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: Take a trip back in time in a drama about Pan Am pilots and flight attendants.

The Prediction: With the HBO hit series “Mad Man” being set in the past and having the same setting that ABC is trying to produce with this new show, Pan Am could possibly be a huge success; especially with Hollywood actress Christina Ricci among the cast. However, how interesting is watch Pan Am flight attendants every week going to be?
<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
Once Upon A Time (Sundays at 7:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: A twist on the classic fairy tales we know and love. A young girl with difficult past finds herself in a small town filled with magical creatures and fairy tale characters.

The Prediction: Who doesn’t love fairy tales? This show has a plot that seems exciting and attention-grabbing, however by viewing the trailer it also proves to be very confusing and unorganized. Looking at the networks past shows it does seem to have much luck with magical series; must I remind you about Pushing Daisies and Eastwick. It is likely that “Once Upon A Time” will face the same cancellation fate as the ABC mystical shows that can before it.

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">CBS</ins>

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
Unforgettable (Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: Former police detective named Carrie Wells has the rare medical recondition called hyperthymesia, a condition that gives her the ability to remember every single moment from her life. Carrie goes back to the police world she left when her former partner reach out to her for help on a case. She agrees to his offer to join his homicide unit; in hopes of finding answers to the one thing she can’t remember, who murdered her sister?

The Prediction: The series has a great lead in with NCIS and NCIS LA airing just before it, nevertheless there are some plot pitfalls. From the looks of the trailer she is using her hyperthymesia to solve cases, which is baffling considering she can only remember things in her own life and not the lives of others. It is going to be exciting to see how the show plays out, but as of right now the only thing that could possible make the show a keeper is the viewers it might gain from NCIS.

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">A Gifted Man (Fridays at 7:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: Michael Holt is a talent surgeon that thinks of nothing but himself, however his attitude beings to change when he starts being visited by the ghost of his deceased ex-wife, Anna. She convinces Michael to run the the free clinic, which she worked at, so that the less fortunate can get the care they need. Michael is tossed into a whole new world with a clientele different from his usual upper class following. He beginnings to see new meaning in his work and life, and starts to change his selfish ways.

The Prediction: Similar to “Unforgettable” the show seems to have some plot drawbacks that will hopefully be resolved in the premiere episodes. It would be great if Anna was not a ghost, but more like an angel sent to change Michael for the better. However, the whole romantic aspect of the show might draw in viewers; watching as he falls back in love with his dead ex-wife. Nevertheless, the series has a 50/50 shot of staying on the air, and could be very popular among fans; like ABC’s underdog hit “Body of Proof.”

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">The CW</ins>

<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">Heart of Dixie (Mondays at 8:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: What if Blair Waldorf moved to Tree Hill? Well no need to wonder that is exactly the plot to Rachel Bilson new show. After her four year stint as Summer Roberts on the hit teen drama The OC and a small recurring role on the NBC’s Chuck; Bilson is finale back in the TV scene. She’ll play a New York City doctor who inherits a medical practice in a small town.

The Prediction: It seems as though the show has been getting the slightest amount publicity from the Network and is least likely to stick around after its debut season. The show has somewhat of a “Hellcats” vibe and we all know how that series turned out. It just doesn’t feel like it has anything to get viewers’ attention the show certainly needs something juicy to keep its spot in The CW family.
<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
The Ringer (Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: This series is going to be filled with drama as Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan. After witnessing a murder former drug addict Bridget must testify against a mobster that wants her dead. To get out of the ordeal she runs way to her sister Siobhan where she discovers the grasses isn’t always greener on the other side. Her sister supposedly kills herself and Bridget takes it as an opportunity to escape her crazy life and step into her sisters seemingly wonderful one, however looks could be deceiving.

The Prediction: Although the plot doesn’t exactly draw you in the show does have a cult following since Gellar played one of the most iconic TV characters in television history, Buffy the Vampire Slayer! With all the Buffy fans still out there it seems that the slayer will be doing some saving once again and this time it will be keeping The Ringer on the air.
<ins datetime="2011-09-22T16:51:01+00:00">
The Secret Circle (Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.)</ins>
The Story: This is a new magical drama created by the same genius that brought you The Vampire Diaries. The Show stars Life Unexpected’s Brittany Robertson who plays Cassie Blake a teenage girl who moves to a small town following her mother’s death, and discovers powers that she never knew she had. Cassie finds herself surrounded by other witches and warlocks, but they might not all be using their powers for good.

The Prediction: The Plot sounds interesting and the trailer leaves you wanting more, however it might just be the fact that the same group created The Vampire Diaries and not the show itself. In short this could be the next CW sci-fi hit or just a bad rip off of the Craft with a bit more high drama mixed into it.

It’s the greatest time of year for any television fan, the Emmy season. With the nominations being announced on July 14 and every entertainment site out there throwing in their two cents, I thought I would toss my thoughts into the mix.

First things first, there is a reason why there are award shows every year. And it always bugs me when people say, [insert show name here] didn’t have the best season, but it still deserves to be nominated. The 6 programs that should get the nominations are the ones that did have the best season and thus have earned said recognition.

I have two dream nominees that I believe deserve a shot at the elusive golden statue this year. These are two shows that need to finally get their dues come award time. And it’s not just because recognition is way overdue, but also because in my opinion, they can do no wrong. I know that’s a bold statement, but these are the two programs that did not let me down over the past year. And I admit it: I’m difficult to please.

First, Friday Night Lights. This nom is a long time coming. Through drastic plot changes, cast shuffling and touchy subjects, this show has always been flawless. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton got their noms last year, but it’s about time the entire program got recognition.

FNL took what could be a simple premise about a Texan town’s love for football and created engaging stories and beloved characters. Its five-season run was as close to flawless as a television program is capable of being. Even if FNL doesn’t get its well-deserved Emmy nod, it will still be remembered as one of the most well-crafted shows ever.

Second, Community. This NBC comedy’s sophomore season was hilariously consistent and all 24 episodes are little comedic gems. If the show doesn’t get a nom, Donald Glover and Danny Pudi need to at least be recognized as supporting actors. I’ve never laughed out loud as much I have during a Community episode.

Now Community’s Thursday night companions, The Office, 30 Rock & Parks and Recreation, are all very funny shows and it’s pretty much a given that Modern Family is going to be nominated. But before the Emmy voters jump back on the Glee bandwagon, I hope they look at little engine’s that could, namely Community.

Regardless of who the nominees are, I will surely be tuning in on September 18 like a good little television fanatic. But I would love to see these two underdogs take home the crown…or at least get the chance to.

As Velma Dinkey would say “Jinkies!” look what found its way to DVD, Cartoon Network’s “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc. Season 1 Volume 1.” That is right Great Dane Scooby-Doo and the mystery solving gang, made up of the clueless leader Fred Jones, damsel in distress Daphne Blake, intelligent Velma Dinkley, and cowardly slacker, who just happens to be Scooby-Doo’s owner, Shaggy Rogers. On the DVD you get the first 4 episode in the series and see the mystery gang going back to their roots. Unlike “What’s New, Scooby-Doo?” the entire cast is dressed back in their original outfits and the feel of the show is very similar to “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” However, the characters are in high school and the animation is much better than 1969 cartoon, plus there are some different character relationships but all in all it is the most relatable adaption to the first Scooby-Doo cartoon I have seen.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens has graduated from the “High School Musical” films that made her famous and is showing off her acting abilities in her new film “Beastly;” a modern day twist on the classic story “Beauty and the Beast.” In the film, Hudgens plays Lindy; whose mind goes faster than her mouth which at times can get her into awkward situations because she can stop talking.

In an interview with MTV News Vanessa describes the characteristic of Lindy’s as “Word Farts.” She also mentions in the interview that Lindy is the girl that doesn’t fit in and is marching to the beat of her own drum; saying that she has to take care of herself because of the situation she is in. In addition to talking about her character she says that what attracted her to the movie was the romantic aspect of it saying “It’s a love story and I’m a hopeless romantic, and I think there is nothing better then a good love story.” Beastly opens in theaters world on March 4, 2011.

Besides her newest flick the twenty-one year old actress is keeping her eyes open for more grown up roles, stating that people refer to her as the “High School Musical” girl and although she is fine with that and believes her HSM character was a great role model for young girls, she wants to grow in her career like every other actor. And, she certainly is moving away from her smart girl HSM role, she will be starring as Blondie in the film “Sucker Punch;” is set in the 1950’s and is about a young girl (Emily Browning) who is institutionalized by her evil stepfather. As a coping strategy she runs away to an alternative reality and foresees a plan which will help her flee the facility that holds her. Vanessa admit that she took the role not only to show her fans a different side of her self but more so show herself another side to her, knowing the character is one she had never played before an knew if she just dig deep inside of her she could pull of the character.

It seems that the actress New Year is starting off good; with two new films and being nominated for 2011 People Choice Award for Top Star Und 25 her fans are proving they will support all her career moves. But, for fans of her music career be a bit disappoint as of now Vanessa seems to be focusing on acting and has yet to bring forth in new music. Nevertheless, the star has got a lot of new things coming our way that prove we will be seeing another side of Vanessa in 2011.
