Born on April 18, 1990 this Carolina native is the oldest of 7 children and has been named one of Nylon Magazine’s 55 faces of the future; in their Young Hollywood Issue. She has also gained the title of Sparkling Stars Revolution Girl, a title also held by Selena Gomez in 2008 and Kay Panabaker in 2009. Brittany “Britt” Robertson’s first role came in she was selected to play Michelle Seaver in the “Wonderful World of Disney: Growing Pains: The Return of the Seavers,” admittedly it wasn’t her breakout role. She didn’t star getting notice until her role as Cara Burns in the 2007 film “Dan in Real Life.” Lots of people believe the film to be her most notable but she didn’t catch the eye of many including Sparkling Stars until she landed the character of Lux Cassidy in the CW series Life Unexpected.

In Robertson on words she explains what the show is all about, “The show revolves around a 16-year-old orphan who intentionally wanted emancipation from the orphanage, which leads her to find her biological parents Cate Cassidy (Shiri Appleby) and Nate Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha). Lux undergoes through several complications and attempts to adapt to her new life with parents she had always wanted.” But what is so appealing about a character with ruff background, well for one she is super independent; and “I always wanted to play someone as interesting as Lux,” says Britt.

Although she is happy with the show and says that it is “great group of dynamic and well developed characters,” sometimes being an actress comes with disappointment. She told DailyActor about a role she had her heart set on and came very, very close to getting “it actually came down to me and the girl who got it. When I finally got that news, it was the most heartbreaking experience ever.” But, they do say things happen for a reason and because she didn’t get that role she was free to be Lux “But then I ended up booking the television show I’m on now shortly after so that was nice,” adds Robertson.

In addition to Lux you can catch Britt as Ellie Pennington this November when she stars in the new Disney Channel original movie Avalon High. The movie is based of the novel by Meg Cabot; who you might remember as the author of the book The Princess Diaries. The movie and novel follow Ellie (Robertson) who starts a new school (Avalon High) where she soon discovers that her new classmates are reincarnations of King Arthur and his court. And, on September 14, 2010 at 9/8c be sure to tune into the premiere of the second season of Life Unexpected and catch all the new unexpected craziness for yourself.

If you’re a fan of Britt you might want to check out some of her other appearance like her 13 episode guest spot on the first season of Swingtown or her lead role in the film Triple Dog; you can get these and other things Britt has stared in at Amazon by clicking below.

The summer is here and if you are like me and not going on a million vacations this year, you are looking for you something fun to do that will get you out of this crazy heat we’ve been experiencing. The movie theatre is the perfect antidote for that affliction. I have a small list of movies I have been waiting for that I would like to share and hope you enjoy!

1. The A-Team: Because I pity the fool who doesn’t want to see this movie. Lots of explosions and excitement. I never watched the television series and I’m still on the edge of my seat waiting for this flick, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact the Bradley Cooper’s in it.

2. Grown Ups: This film follows four former high school friends who reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend, and share memoires and connect. Also, we all know Adam Sandler never disappoints and with an all-star cast of funny men (Kevin James, David Spade, and Chris Rock) I am sure to laughing so hard I almost lose bladder control.

3. Iron Man 2: I know this movie already came out and has probably left some theatres. I wanted to mention it because I’m totally bummed that I missed seeing it because I watched the first one and love it. Robert Downey Jr. is hilarious and I’ve heard the movie is great. If you know where it is still playing it is worth the watch for any superhero lover.

4. Jonah Hex: For all those boys out there who love action films and Megan Fox plays this is movie. Based on the DC comics antihero this film will take you on a wild ride when Hex a tough bounty hunter is made an offer by the U.S. military he can’t refuse.

5. The Last Airbender: If you have seen the animated series on Nickelodeon called “Avatar: The Last Airbender” this movie is for you! This movie promises to have the perfect balance of action and comedy that fans of the series will appreciate, and all viewers will enjoy. No matter if you root for water, fire, air, or earth, you will not be disappointed.

6. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: Lastly the Twilight Saga, this saga has begun to drive me crazy, seriously I fear I have lost my mind. I want to see this movie so badly that I don’t want to see it anymore. I’m literally afraid that it won’t live up to the hype in my head. Also, I’m ashamed to admit this but I think I have a strange jealousy of Bella (I do realize that she is fictional as well as all of the other characters in the book). Anyway, whether you are Team Edward or Team Jacob you’ll be sure to want to see this one, this will be the interpretation of the best of the book’s series (in my opinion).

Lastly, I live by the twice is nice motto some of these movies I know I will be seeing multiple times over the span of the summer. I hope you have a great summer and take some to hit the movies!

Nowadays, you can find many books in hardcover, paperback, and DVD..? Turning books into film and TV shows have become the newest thing in Hollywood, and some of these best sellers have become hits once they leapt off the page.

Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga: Although, the New Moon movie didn’t live up to Twilight this book turned movie was a winner. Many young girls; who are more into reading Seventeen magazines than a five-hundred page book first heard of this vampire love story when they saw the trailer for the live action movie released in 2008, and then set out to read the book. Twilight brought back the vampire franchises that Buffy the Vampire Slayer started, and has paved the way for other blood sucking shows.

Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl: Gossip Girl takes us into a different side of high society while the super secret high school blogger Gossip Girl; who follows the every move of privileged teenagers that attend an elite private school in New York City. The CW series Gossip Girl based off the books became a hit once it aired and has marked the rise in Hollywood for many of the shows stars.

Nicholas Sparks’s The Last Song: Sparks has had many of his stories turned into films through out the years most, however seem to be loved story this tale will be bit different it shows the journey that a teenage girl takes when she and her brother visits their father for the summer, and how you don’t know what you have until it is gone. This is a powerful book and hopeful the movie will do it justice. The feature film will star Disney’s Miley Cyrus, Greg Kinnear, and Kelly Preston.

L.J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries: With the success of Twilight the CW jumped on the vampire bandwagon by bring The Vampire Diaries books series to life; which follows a teenage girl who get caught in the middle of two vampire brothers who have some issues to workout. The show started off slow but has gained a fateful following and has become one of the stations top rated shows.

Beverly Cleary’s Ramona and Beezus: This book is a bit different then the others hitting theater it is a children’s book that tell the story of Bezus who has her handful dealing with her younger sister Ramona, it is a funny narration that lets very kid know it is fine to be different. The film stars many famous stars like Joey King, John Corbett, Sandra Oh, Josh Duhamel, and another Disney starlet Selena Gomez.

But, these art the only novels being going from paper to live action there are tons more; from Percy Jackson & the Olympians to The Hobbit, and LA Candy to Something Borrowed you will be seeing a lot more of your favorite books come to live on not only the big screen but small scene as well.

Now, that CBS has bought Medium from NBC and is paring it Friday nights this fall with their hit show Ghost Whisperer, it seems that with two ghosts seeing psychics airing back to back the possibilities are unlimited. Ghost Whisperer has aired on CBS since its premiere back in 2005, and follows Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt), who has the ability to communicate with spirits. She tries her best to help these earthbound spirits in hopes of putting their souls to rest in order for them to be set free and move on. Medium; which first aired in 2005 as well, but on NBC, takes a whole different view into the spiritual world. The show, based on the book “Don’t Kiss Them Good-Bye” written by really life Medium Allison DuBois, is about struggling wife and mother Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette) who just so happens to work for the D.A. (District Attorney’s Office), and helps them solve cases by using her psychic abilities.

So, will these two spiritualists ever meet face to face, well according to CBS, you never know what can happen in TV land. They have stated “It’s like a blend of two genres; It’s got that similar sensibility to Ghost Whisperer.” CBS goes on to say “Their mythologies are different, and we haven’t talked about a crossover, but it’s possible.” But, the fact is; although, the station does imply that the two shows may do a cross over it is quite some ways down the road. “I think right now, the shows have a different language. They have a different skill set, different rules, etc., but once we get the show launched and comfortable in its time period, we could certainly talk about it.”

The new seasons of both shows have already started airing on CBS and here is a little info about what is to come in future episodes.

Ghost Whisperers Season 5 Spoilers: This season the show will be taking the same leap as other show such as Desperate Housewives and One Tree Hill; by jumping five years into the future. Melinda’s son Aiden is now five years old and does posses her ghost seeing gift, however he holds and even greater gift that the show will go much deeper into during each episode. It is said that his gift will have a great impact on the world of light and dark, which will cause Melinda to be over protective to him, through out the season. Also the show will have its 100th episode, and according to series insiders it is going to be an explosive episode.

Medium Season 6 Spoilers: If you watched last seasons finally you know that Allison discovers that she had a brain-tumor; she went along with operation knowing the possibility that she might loss her gift. The tumor was successfully removed, but Allison is in a comatose state. When the show returned she was out of her coma and after four month abilities slowly begin to resurface. This season you can expect Allison and her family all going through chances, dealing with the after effect of the last past month, and now with her gift back in a must stronger way, it will take sometime for her to get use to it. The show will also be doing a Halloween type episode that will be based on the zombie-horror film Night of the Living Dead; where Allison will some how be inserted into the film classic.

Earlier in Kay’s career she played Jesse McCartney’s younger sister, Nikki Westerly on the TV series “Summerland” and also played Debbie Berwick on the Disney Channel show, “Phil of the Future.” Now Kay is starring in the feature film “FAME,” which will be released in theaters on September 25th and we were lucky enough speak with her about her new film, how she balances her career, and what other projects she has coming up in the future.

Sparkling Stars: First, start by telling our readers a little bit about yourself.

Kay Panabaker: I’m a 19 year old actress and UCLA graduate. I have been acting for almost 10 years and am enjoying everything that life throws at me.

Sparkling Stars: You star in the in movie “FAME” can you tell us a little bit about the plot of the film?

Kay Panabaker: “FAME” follows a group of students at a performing arts high school in New York City from their freshman to senior year. The film shows their struggles, heartaches, and successes as they attempt to figure themselves out and find their place in the world while attempting to follow their dreams.

Sparkling Stars: You play Jenny, what is her personality like?

Kay Panabaker: Jenny is very timid and unsure of herself, both as a person and as an artist. As the years go by, however she becomes more confident and realizes that everyone makes mistakes, and learns to learn and grow from the mistakes she makes.

Sparkling Stars: What was the audition process like?

Kay Panabaker: I was actually the first person cast. I had one audition with the casting directors, whom I’ve known for a few years, but didn’t expect anything after that. The next day, however, I was told I had an audition with the director and one of the producers and that I would have to sing. I’m not a very strong singer and didn’t think they would even consider me after my singing. A couple weeks after this audition, though, I was vacationing in Hawaii and I got the phone call that they were offering me the role. I was shocked and thrilled!

Sparkling Stars: What drew you to the movie and the role of Jenny?

Kay Panabaker: Because this film takes place over 4 consecutive years, the film allows for intensive character growth and development. Jenny, in particular, really grows and matures and I got to stretch myself.

Sparkling Stars: What was it like to star in a remake to such a classic 80s film?

Kay Panabaker: I never thought of this movie as a remake. Sure, it is loosely based on the previous film, but it features all new characters, all new music, and all new storylines. It is a stand alone film. It is rather intimidating now as people start comparing the 2 films. Hopefully people will realize that this is a separate film.

Sparkling Stars: Did you see the original film before you audition for the remake; if not, have you seen it now?

Kay Panabaker: I saw it before my audition and was struck by how the film took it’s time and didn’t rush to tell the story.

Sparkling Stars: Why should people go see the movie “Fame?”

Kay Panabaker: It’s such an exhilarating movie that will leave audience members dancing in their seats and feeling so inspired. It shows heartache and struggle, but makes everyone feel as if they can succeed if only they try.

Sparkling Stars: What is you favorite thing about acting?

Kay Panabaker: I love being on set and getting to work and be creative with lots of different people, from the actors to the grips and electricians and the producers and the 100s of people it takes to get a film made.

Sparkling Stars: What has been your favorite role to play so far?

Kay Panabaker: I have loved every role I’ve done with no favorites because each one has been an experience for me.

Sparkling Stars: Did you ever want to do anything else besides acting?

Kay Panabaker: While I love acting and would love to continue doing so for years, I may grow tired of it or could stop getting jobs. I have a few ideas of what I would equally love. I went to UCLA and studied history because one of my back-up plans is to be an elementary school teacher. I could also see myself going back to college to get a degree that has to do with animals because I would love to be an animal trainer as well.

Sparkling Stars: Is it hard to balance your career, school, and personal life?

Kay Panabaker: I think people make time for things that are important to them and for me that is school and work so it really wasn’t that difficult. I would do auditions or work during the day and then take night and weekend classes at my community college starting when I was 13. When I transferred to UCLA at age 15, I scheduled work around school. I’m so glad I finished school already because now I can work and feel good about myself, knowing I already have a BA.

Sparkling Stars: Do you have any other new projects in the works that you can tell us about?

Kay Panabaker: I did an independent film this summer called “The Lake Effect.” It’s a drama and I played a pregnant girl who thinks she can have her kid, go to college, and support her musician boyfriend without any difficulty. She soon learns otherwise.

Sparkling Stars: Here is just a fun question, if you could be any superhero who would it be and why?

Kay Panabaker: I would want to be Batman because of all the cool gadgets he has.

Sparkling Stars: Lastly, what do you have to say to your fans, and anyone trying to break into the business?

Kay Panabaker: Hard work and an education can never be taken away from you, so if you have both, there’s nothing you can’t do.

Nina Dobrev; know mostly as teenage mother Mia Jones on CTV and the N’s Degrassi: The Next Generation will be taking on a new role this fall on The CW show “The Vampire Dairies.” Dobrev, will play Elena; a young girl who finds herself caught up in a crazy love triangle with two vampire brothers, the series will premiere on September 10, 2009 and be a part of CW’s Thursday line up.

The Vampire Dairies, is a book written by L.J. Smith, which puts it on the list of vampire books turned into movies and, or series such as; the classic movie/book “Interview With a Vampire,” the hugely popular 2008 film “Twilight,” and the HBO series “True Blood,” besides those it also joins vampire based series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Moonlight.”

Nina, talks about the show calling it edgy, sexy, and darker than “Twilight,” however she does admit to reading the Twilight books, which is why the show interested her; “I was a Twilight fan! I remember reading the books and saying if they ever make a movie of this I have to play Bell, and that did not work out, but this series was written years before “Twilight” and this character I am her, I love it!”

The show will be hitting the small screen at the right time with “Twilight; New Moon” movie coming out in November 2009, and the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” movie remake rumored to be in the works people seem to have vampire’s on the brain. But, why is it we love these blood sucking creatures of the night? Well, Nina has a few ideas “Their something appealing about guy who lives at night in the dark. Sometimes you just want that mystery and that guy who you cannot get to.”

Although, her new show seems fascinating she doesn’t forget where she started and thanks Degrassi: The Next Generation for everything it has taught her, saying, “Degrassi been great for me, it started me out. I’ve learned so much pretty much everything from what to do to what not to do, I love it! And it my seem hard to do jump from high school to vampires we know and believe that she is going to do great, this is a career making role for the star and we can already see her fan base growing. Vampire Diaries and season nine of Degrassi air this fall, so be show to check you local listing and make such to watch them both.

In 2009 there is going to be a whole bunch of new stuff coming our way; from TV shows to movie, and video games systems to cell phones, the good news is we got the inside scoop on some of the cool things heading our way in 2009.

The Mac Mini: Do not say goodbye to the Mac Mini desktop just yet, because it maybe getting an upgrade. Sources say that in 2009 Apple, will goes forward with there plans to upgrade the Mac Mini to make it more up to date, with the hope that the in vision of the product will raise its selling rate. However the company has no plans to discontinue the old Mac Mini, even though the desktop is not big in store seller it does have a good online buying rate, it has been on Amazon.com’s best selling desktop list for sometime now. If Apple does indeed come out with revised version of the system it will be the first upgrade to the desktop since 2006.

DSI: It is about time for a new handle game system and in 2009 we are getting one, the Nintendo DSI. The game console will be getting in to the touch screen business with two large touch screen screen; it will also be a video camera as well as having a MP3 play back feature. The DSI has already been released in Japan, and has become a big seller there for kids and teens. Sadly people living the US will have to wait until the winter of 09 to get their hands on the system, but first they will have to save up the cash for it; the DSI is set to be priced around $200.

Zune Phone: Move over Iphone the Zune phone is coming to town, rumors have been floating around for weeks that Microsoft will be releasing a Zune phone sometime this year. Like the Apple Iphone, the phone will be a media player/cell phone and have the look of a mobile sidekick. Zune music players are a big seller for the company and this new project could make them some serous cash. However there has been no official word yet to if the rumors are true, and as we call a few years back Microsoft did release a statement stating they would never do a Zune phone, but like the saying goes never say never.

TV and Movies: Finial we got the 09 scoop on the big screen and small, here is some info on what hitting the theaters and what is coming to TV. Buffy/Angel creator Joss Whedon is back with an all series, Dollhouse. It will star former Buffy star Eliza Dushku and air on Fox this February. Another new series coming our way this year is Castle, about a murder mystery writer who is called in to help the NYPD solve murders when a murderer starts killing people just like in his books, the series will air in March on ABC. In theaters this year is films; like the teen flick “They Came from Up Stairs,” about a group of kids who must stop aliens from invading the world. Other movies that are being released are the live action feature based of the Anime Dragonball Z, and the Adventure film Race to Witch Mountain.

With all this and more stuff coming out this year, it is safe to say it is going to be one great year.

Seventeen year old actress Emma Roberts is taking 2009 by storm with her roles in multiple films; first she is going to be staring with former “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow and Disney Channel’s star Jake T. Austin, in the family comedy; based on the book by Lois Duncan, “Hotel for Dogs.” The movie hit theater on January 23, 2009 and is about two orphan kids who start rescuing stray dogs of the streets and secretly taking care of them with the help of their friends, in a vacant house. Emma plays Andi and has this to say about her character; “It was a fun character to play.” Roberts’s favorite part was that she got to play an older sister in the movie a role she has in real life as well “I have a little sister, so I can relate to being protective over a younger sibling. It was great to show my sisterly instincts.” The movie is a must see for families in 2009 and shows about taking care of animals, family love, and everything needs a home.

The cast of characters in the film makes the movie what is and from Emma point of view was a blast to work with, “It was amazing to work with everyone in the movie. Lisa Kudrow was so much fun and Kevin Dillon is hilarious.” The young starlet was also very flattered to find out actor Don Cheadle; who plays the foster kids’ social worker in the film, children where a fan of hers, saying “Don is such a nice guy. It’s so nice to hear when anyone’s a fan.” The movie is sure to do wonders in theaters and be a box of hit. Next up she will star in two amazing films which are both are due to be shown at Sundance in January 2009; “Lymelife” with Cynthia Nixon and “The Winning Season” with Sam Rockwell.

Emma gave up the info on her character in the film “Lymelife,” saying its a darker and edgy movie then she has done, but her role is just the typical girl, but got a kick out of wearing the old fashion clothes considering the movie is based in the 70s. She goes on to say that for her other independent film ['Winning Season'] she had to learn to play baskets ball, but confess she will probably never play the game again. Lastly, her finial 2009 film is the teen comedy Wild Child; about spoiled Malibu princess who is forced to go to brooding school England. The film was released in the UK in 2008 and will finally make its way to theaters in the USA, May 2009. Emma does admit though her character can be a bit of brat they are not so different, “I identify with her a little bit.” She says “She’s very sassy and stuff.”

As you can see it is going to be a big year for this teen star; who will be celebrating her eighteenth birthday in February 2009, has come along way from her Nickelodeon series Unfabulous.

There are four books in the Twilight series; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and the fourth Breaking Dawn, which is said to be the last book of the series there have been rumors that Meyers may do more with the characters of Twilight in later years.

And why not the books are loved by many people all over the world raging from boys to girls, men to women, and teens to adults, and have become highly successful. The only question left to ask is why? Well, that’s a question not even Stephenie Meyer herself can answer, “I’m not sure what it is that draws readers to be so excited about the characters. I know I love them, I know they’re extremely important to me, but I don’t know why other people feel the same way.”

Twilight movie star, who just so happens to be a big fan of the books Kristen Stewart gives her thoughts on why she and other fans are drawn to the books;<img src="http://www.sparklingstars.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/kristen_003.jpg" alt="" title="kristen_003" width="110" height="150" size-full wp-image-668" align="right"/> “The cool thing about the story is that it’s a seemingly wonderful fantasy let’s fall in love with vampires and live forever — but it’s so much harder than that. Imagine living forever. Living one life is hard enough.”

Kristen was happy to get to step into the shows of Bella in the film version of the book and hopes to represent her role soon; “People really love these books, hopefully we’ll get to shoot all four.” Says Stewart; “It’s a pretty triumphant love story, it’s going to take a while, and it deserves at least a series of three.” I’m sure fans of the books are hoping for the same thing, but in the meantime they can check out the first Twilight movie in theaters November 21, 2008.
