Artist: Ashley Tisdale
Album: Guilty Pleasure

In the extremely popular High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale played the mischevious, lively and funny Sharpay Evans. She was amazing at her role, maybe because she was a little older than the others, and was much more self aware. With the release of her second album, Guilty Pleasure, the 23-year-old Ashley is attempting to sell the teen crowd the proposition that she’s ‘grown up’.

Disney’s tendency for producing tons of ‘talent’ for the teens has become legendary, with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers being plastered basically everywhere in the world! And every so often some talent breaks through and something amazing and unique is created. But, no matter how charming and mischievous Tisdale was as Sharpay, none of that transfers to Guilty Pleasure. Instead she has sung maladroit songs rubbish attempts at sexuality and very little imagination!

It’s intriging to see that Ashley’s attempts to be grown up is less like a young women growing into her own skin and more like a teenager trying to impress people. It is very disappointing. Guilty Pleasure was written by professionals with no input from Tisdale. Ashley’s band comes out with a lame power pop, complete with wilted guitar progression and sweeping strings for her more emotional numbers. It completely lacks creativeness and is actually rather boring!

The lyrical contents are pretty bleak and the tunes cover the routine breakups-to-makeups area of modern pop music. Tisdale should make up her mind as in ‘Masquerade’ she says “I can be anything you want me to” but insists that she “has to be what she is underneath” in ‘Overrated’. Her everyday, bland vocals do little to communicate any actual importance!

So overall, although some of her songs are okay, Ashley Tisdale’s new album is rubbish and uninspired! This reviewer gives the album a C-!

Movie: Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo
Cast: Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Grey DeLisle, and Matthew Lillard
Genre: Animation | Family

In this 2010 new movie Scooby-Doo and the gang set out on a trip to visit Velma’s sister Madelyn, who has been studying magic at the Whirlen Merlin Magic Academy. However, when the gang arrives, they learn that the school has been troubled with strange disturbances. Many of its students have fled after reporting sightings of a giant Gryphon that’s frightened them. The gang smells trouble and sets out to investigate.

The movie is just like all your old favorite Scooby movies/episode; it is filled with lots of potential suspects, creepy settings, scary monster, colorful artwork, and, Scooby and Shaggy silliness. Instead of having the same animation from What’s New Scooby Doo; Abracadabra-Doo has a retro feel and look to it that takes you back to the Scooby-Doo Where Are You?, Days as well as older Scooby-Doo which is nice that they are going back to their roots, even the mystery has a classic Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. style.

But, the film isn’t all scary monsters and dark castles there is some humor, which is partly due to Velma’s sister Madelyn’s crush on Shaggy and the Mystery Machine’s new “G.P.S” system that has a bit off attitude.

Besides the movie itself this DVD includes a bonus feature titled Scooby-Doo and Puppets Too, which teaches viewers how to create their own scary Gryphon puppet.

Own Scooby Doo: Abracadabra-Doo on DVD: http://www.wbshop.com/ScoobyDoo-AbracadabraDoo/1000112245,default,pd.html

What can be dinner and a movie with that special someone? It is an old classic dating night routine that never gets old, so when you are planning you next get together with your significant other here are, our top 6 movie choice that any couple is sure to enjoy.

6. Lady and the Tramp: We all know that people can find love, well so can animals, at lest in this Disney animated picture they can. Instead of watch a romantic chick flick, or a bloody action film; set back, relax, and enjoy this adorable cartoon movie about the love that forms between a pampered high-class dog and a downtown mutt, when their lives get intertwined with one another.

5. When In Rome: This romantic comedy; staring Kristen Bell & Josh Duhamel, will keep you laughing all night long. It proves that you can’t hurry love, it will happen when it happens, because sometimes you can mess things up by trying to hard. By seeing this film your guy will get all the laughter he needs for one night and you will get your romantic movie fixes, the film opens in theatres on January 29, 2010.

4. The Notebook: Yes, guys this may seem at first like a boring sappy & romantic film, and you don’t intend on wasting an hour and thirty minutes of your night setting through it. But, trust me this movie is about truelove and that if you will care for someone you will stick it out and be there for them no matter what, it is certain to put even the toughest of men to tears.

3. Valentine’s Day: With a title of a film like this you know it must be a great date night movie choice; it shows the ups and downs of relationships. No matter if you’re young, or old; heart-broken, or in love we all go through the same things, but ultimately we will find someone great in the end. This flick hits theaters on February 12, 2010; will make you glad to have that someone special you care about in your life.

2. Dear John: Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks; the movie stars Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, who portray the roles of two young loves who are torn-apart when one must go off to fulfill their duty as a soldier. However they continue to write each until one sends a letter the other never saw coming. It is a sad story that will keep you crying, but it is also a beautiful tale as well. You can catch it in theaters on February 5, 2010.

1. My Fair Lady: What can be better then spending the night at home with you partner, Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison? This is the original “She’s All That;” the 1999 modern remake staring Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook, but with music. It tales the story of how one little bet can change your whole life, and you shouldn’t let love walk away.

June 12, 1929 was the day Annelies Marie Frank was born, but you may know her as Anne Frank. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany; younger sister to Margot Frank and second daughter to Otto and Edith Hollander Frank. She lived in a neighborhood mixed of Christian and Jewish children. In March of 1933 the Nazi party is elected to power in Germany, which also had Anti-Semitic measures put into effect immediately.

Anne, her mother, and her sister joined her father in Amsterdam in February of 1934; that’s when Anne began to attend a Montessori School were she enjoyed reading and writing. Anne was very outgoing, energetic, and exraverted; she had a great relationship with her father and sister, but not her mother.

On May 10, 1940 German forces invaded the Netherlands and immediately began to impose restrictions on the Jewish population. The restrictions included the registration of all Jews, segregation into Jewish schools, and the requirement that Jews wear a yellow star to tell them apart from other citizens. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s sister received a notice to go to a transit camp, so the plans of the Frank Family going into hiding moved up a few weeks so Margot would not be forced to go to the camp. On July 6, 1942 Anne and her family along with four others went into hiding in a place called the Secret Annexe.

The four others were the Mr. and Mrs. Van Pel along with their son who Anne had a crush on, and Frite Pfeffer; the family dentist and friend. Anna could only Squeeze in a few things of hers when they left for the Secret Annexe, because if the Franks had suitcases they would look very suspicious. Anne recored in her private diary the most intimate details of daily life during her two-year stay in the Secret Annexe, and her fear of being discovered almost daily. Her last entry was on August 1, 1944 three days later Anne and the others were discovered and arrested by the Gestapo; on September 2, 1944 they sent to Auschwitz.

Then Anne and her sister were sent to Bergen-Belsen Concentration camp. In March of 1945 the outgoing, energetic, exraverted Anne Frank died, never to see life again with child like wonder, never to see her family, never to grow up and have her own family. No, she died of Typhus in Bergen-Belsen, but her life has been passed on into her dairy. The only survivor of the Secret Annexe was Anne’s loving fathers, Otto Frank. He has passed on Anne’s life of how she lived in secret for two-years all from her dairy, her life, and her soul. That is the life story of Anne Frank; and it shall always be remembered.

Artist: Selena Gomez (And The Scene)
Album: Kiss & Tell
Style: Pop/Rock
Sparkling Stars Rating: B+

At first, the thought of Disney sweetheart Selena Gomez putting out an album of her very own was a good one, until sneak peeks of the CD were leaked online. People began to think that her voice was too mechanical in some songs and that the lyrics were less than perfect, however other thought she had talent and when the album was official released, bought it immediately.

Well, I don’t think Selena and the Scene will be winning any Grammys in time soon, but they can hold their own against other Disney artist. Their first single “Falling Down” is a dance techno song that pokes fun at the Hollywood, and bit of the high school, world.

Her titled track “Kiss & Tell” was a bit of a disappointment, suchlike her tune “Naturally;” all though both had catchy tunes there weren’t all that special unlike, the upbeat song “I Won’t Apologize,” which is all about accepting who you are. I Promise You” and “The Way I Loved You” are defiantly the softer songs off her album and I would say two of the best tracks.

Unlike “As a Blonde” and “More” which have to be the two tracks I didn’t like off the album. The lyrics weren’t at all catchy and the music was to rock and roll, however the rest of the songs on CD; “I Don’t Miss You At All,” “Stop and Erase,” “I Got U,” and “Crush” weren’t, like most her tracks, half bad.

So, in the end Selena and the Scenes album was a good first try, but I think with a little more practice and finding the right type of music I believe their second album will be what all Selena fans were hoping for with this CD. Sparkling Stars gives “Kiss & Tell” a B+!

They sell different scented soaps and shower gels, some of there most popular are the “Snow Fairy Show Gel,” after you use this body wash you will give off the sweet smell of candy, just like Snow Fairy does.

Rock Star Soap is another one of their highly rated products, with the delicious scent of ice cream and cake and the power to leave your skin soft and smooth there is no question why people love it so much. And lastly, this has to be one of their most raved about items “Honey I Washed the Kids Soap;” this soap gives of the smell of honey and toffee and soothes your entire body making you feel at peace.

However, if none of those products caught your eye don’t worry Lush sell tons of other amazing items for your bath time, like different soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs, they even have shower jellies; which you can use on your body and hair to condition and soften both. But, lush has more then just bath merchandise they also have skin car and hair stuff too. Their “Ocean Salt Cleanser” is one their best and will leave your skin glowing, or you can try their “Vanishing Cream Moisturizer” great for helping oily and acne-prone skin.

Although, hair care is not what Lush is known for it they have some highly recommend products that don’t get enough credit; like the “Rehab Shampoo” that will strengthen even the most damaged hair and for dry unruly hair the “Curly Wurly Shampoo” will give it just what it needs.

This Valentine’s Day keep your make up simple, but cute with out over doing it; trust me when I say that to much eyeliner can be a turn off for some guys, so with the help of some YouTube Make-Up/Fashion Gurus, here are some wearable looks that take won’t take all day to do. Who ever said beauty can’t be easy, and quick?

Two4beauty’s Soft V-day Look: If you are a bit younger you should go for a more tone down look, that isn’t to dramatic or shiny like this Soft Valentine’s Day eye.

XSparkage’s Tainted Love Look: For the teens and collage students getting ready for their Valentine’s dates instead of doing the ordinary pink and purple eye, try a brown look like the one below.

MakeupByTiffanyD’s Pink and Chocolate Look: You might not think at first that hot pink and dark brown will go good together, but surprisingly they are a great combination.

However, the Romans; not knowing these are the attribute she would be remember for, add the aspects of the love and beauty goddess Aphrodite, on to Venus as her characteristics.

It is rumored that the Roman people stated this about Venus many years ago, and some still believe it today; “She was the goddess of chastity in women, the protector of feminine chastity. She is the bringer of joy to gods and humans.”

Although, Venus was the goddess of, shall we say passion, we mustn’t forget that she was the goddess of beauty as well. But, what many people do not know is that there are in fact two different Aphrodites; the first is the daughter of Uranus and is known as the goddess of unworldly love, the other is the child of Zeus and Dione and is known as the goddess of physical appearance.

There are many books and movies on Venus; all those most make her out to her as being a sex-symbol she was actually very elegant and lady like. In many and paintings/drawings she shown with every little clothes, or none at all, like the most famous statue of her is probably the armless Venus de Milo, which feature her top have completely unclothed. However it is said that she wore beautiful gowns and a crown.

Mini Series: Cranford: The Collection and Return to Cranford
Cast: Judi Dench, Michael Gambon, Eileen Atkins, and Imelda Staunton
Genre: Drama

The Cranford Collection: This wonderful 3 disc set stars Oscar©-winner Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal, Casino Royale) and a star studded cast in this charming story set in the small town of Cranford, in the 1840s it follows the small absurdities and major tragedies that change brings the people of Cranford. And, with the arrival of Frank Harrison, a handsome new doctor from London things turn upside down, not only because of his revolutionary medical methods, but also because of the effect he has on many female hearts in the town.

This DVD collection is filled with love, grief, and happiness; it is an engaging viewing experience and it unfolds at an unhurried pace. It shows, like in real life, how word can get around fast in a small town and everyone seems to know one another. This is a well-around tale that will be a delight to watch again and again.

Return to Cranford: Judi Dench is back in this two-part sequel to the Emmy-winning BBC/PBS drama, Cranford. Miss Matty’s has finally filled her dream of having a child with the birth of Tilly, daughter of her maid Martha and carpenter Jem. However, things aren’t as good as she’d like them to be with the shadow of the railway still looming, but the line has been halted five miles outside of Cranford; which is a disaster as far as Captain Brown is concerned.

Although, this two-part sequel is just as good as the original it has quit a bit more drama that consist of family problems, imperiled friendships, and death. But, through it all Cranford once again embrace the challenges that if faces and once again comes out with an amazing story to tell.
